5. Our Basis for Using Your Information
Depending on the circumstances, Solis may process personal information because:
It is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a booking
It is necessary to provide services under your booking agreement
You have provided consent
Solis has a legitimate business interest that does not override your privacy rights
It is necessary to comply with a legal obligation
It is necessary to protect a guest’s vital interests in an emergency
For example, Solis may rely on the booking agreement when using information to coordinate your itinerary, reservations and transport. We may rely on consent when using photographs for promotional purposes or sending certain marketing communications.
The Nigeria Data Protection Commission identifies recognised lawful grounds including consent, contractual necessity and legal obligation, alongside statutory data-subject rights.
6. Sensitive Personal Information
Some information provided to Solis may be sensitive, including health details, medical conditions, dietary information that reveals religious or health matters, or identification information.
Solis will only collect such information where it is reasonably necessary for:
Guest safety
Emergency planning
Dietary accommodation
Accessibility
Participation in an activity
Compliance with legal obligations
Access to this information will be restricted. It will only be shared with a supplier or service provider where necessary to safely and properly deliver the relevant service.
For example, a restaurant may be told about a guest’s allergy, but it would not ordinarily need access to unrelated booking or identity information.

These parties may include:

Certain itinerary and logistical information may be shared within the group where necessary to coordinate the experience. Private medical, dietary or personal matters will not ordinarily be shared with other guests.

You have consented to receive marketing
You are an existing client and the communication is permitted by law
Solis otherwise has a valid basis for contacting you
You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe method provided or by contacting Solis.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent Solis from sending necessary booking, payment, safety or service communications relating to an active enquiry or booking.
10. Photography, Video and Social Media

Guests should be informed where photography or videography is planned. Where consent is required, Solis will record whether a guest:
Consents to being photographed or recorded

A guest’s decision not to participate in promotional photography should not prevent them from receiving the core experience, although Solis may need to manage positioning or access during specific content-capture moments.
Third-party photographers and videographers engaged by Solis should be required to comply with Solis confidentiality and privacy expectations. The existing client-policy documentation expressly treats photography and media consent as a separate privacy consideration.

Some of the technology providers used by Solis may store or process information outside Nigeria.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, Solis will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is lawful and that appropriate safeguards are in place.
This may include reviewing provider terms, security measures, contractual protections and the destination’s level of data protection.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
Be informed about how your information is used
Request access to your personal information
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
Object to certain forms of processing
Request restriction of processing
Withdraw consent

Object to decisions made solely through automated processing
Lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority
The Nigeria Data Protection Commission lists rights including access, rectification, objection, restriction, portability, erasure, information, complaint and protection in relation to automated decision-making.

Where a guest remains dissatisfied, they may have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, which is the Nigerian authority responsible for data-protection regulation and enforcement.
